Reporting a post to a Moderator
|
Kays |
| Mon May 16 2005, 22:44 |
The number of members reporting posts, has been increasing lately. This feature is only to be used to report a current post or topic which is deamed offensive. It is not to be abused or used for any other reason.
I would to remind everyone who wants to report a post, to check the following things before reporting:
The date: If a post is more than a month old, forget it. It means it has been approved by a moderator or administrator.
Don't report someone for swearing or spamming and then attack them afterwards, you also get warned, if you do so.
Also, do NOT report a topic just to ask us a question or tell us something. You WILL get a warning for doing that.
NOTICE: If you send a false report/flame someone in your report, you will be warned and possibly banned.
Thanks in advance.

Polls Posting guidelines |
Kays |
| Sat Nov. 13 2004, 21:08 |
Since most polls made recently haven't provided a proper choice of options or have been poorly thought out, the following guidelines for posting polls is now in place.
1/ Villagers and Elders are permited to start a poll. All polls will go into the Moderators queue for approval. When appproved, it will be moved to the appropriate forum. If a poll doesn't meet the criteria below you will be asked to modify the poll and to resubmit it.
2/ The poll should be on a topic in which there is general interest by most.
3/ The poll options should be all encompassing. For example, if it's a "What creature is.." poll, then all creatures or a good representation of the majority of them should be listed as options.
4/ State the reason for your poll. ("What do you think?" doesn't qualify.)
If in doubt about posting a poll, please PM a mod or admin about whether it meets the requirements. Also all polls will go into....

Upload requirements
|
Kays |
| Wed July 14 2004, 22:03 |
As of now, any skin or creaturemind file uploaded to the site must include a good image with a proper file extension and a readme. I don't have the time to be playing around putting together incomplete zip files. You took the time to create it. Now spend a bit more to finish it so that it can be placed on the site.
Thanks for your cooperation in this matter.

The navbar on the downloads pages If it's showing you as guest |
Kays |
| Tue June 29 2004, 23:33 |
If your name is showing as guest there it's because the cookies haven't been set yet. The name display on the navbar is done using cookies. Since the downloads are on a second site and cookies are site specific they can't be used there. So they have to be set seperately there.
To set the cookies on the downloads pages, you will need to use any of the links on the navbar to go there. Not the one on the downloads pages obviously. You should then see your name in the navbar and get access to the other links available as a member.

Spaming Steps to control. |
Kays |
| Wed June 23 2004, 18:12 |
As of now there are new proceedures in place to deal with members who are considered to be spamming (making too many short and/or unrelated posts)
They will be warned and restricted to a set number of post per day as determined by the moderator or administrator. When restricted, the quick reply box will disappear. In the post screen under your name you will see your post limit as well as the number of posts made. If this limit is exceeded, then you will be denied access to the post screen to make any more posts until the time limit expires on the oldest post.
Also, your post count will not increase while your posting rights are restricted.

Sig posting rules
|
Kays |
| Mon June 21 2004, 07:34 |
Over the weekend the major subject of discussion was signatures. And there were a great number of threads mmade on that subject.
Something that I think is starting distract from the original purpose these boards were set up for. So as of now the following rules are in place:
Each member will only be allowed one thread to discuss sigs on. Any request to that member for a sig are to be posted on that thread. There will be no addition threads allowed the announce or show off sigs.
I also ask those working on and displaying images to try to keep it on one thread also.
I thank you for your cooperation.
