Our FAQs: What kind of troops are known about so far? (Black & White 2 Pre-release FAQs

Things are still kinda vague on this topic.

We know each civilisation will have archers, swordsmen and most likely spearmen with their weapons and look specific to their own people, but as for the likes of cavalary, this hasn't really been confirmed.

By: chronic :: Nov 02, 2004, 09:07 AM please if you the manager of this web site are reading this comment please try to talk with lionhead studios or either black and white studios and tell them to add cavalry in the game cause is one off the most important elements on war and they can be used against thousands off arrow soldiers if theres no cavalry then the arrow soldiers will take advantage of the sword soldiers... please tell this to somebody who can do something about it!

If you read the disclaimer at the bottom of this page, you'll see we're just a fan site that has no real ties to Lionhead studios or BWS. For all we know, they could be in the game and we just don't know it. As I recall, this matter was discussed a long time ago on the official Black & White 2 forums, but like many other desired features of the game discussed there, the fans recieved no confirmation of the inclusion or exclusion of cavalry in the game. If they spilled the beans on everything we asked them, there'd be few real surprises left in the game. We're all just gonna have to wait and see.

Cause the cavalry remains on all big troops and as mr. molineux said that the war is gonna be about thousands of thousands of troops it'll get better,much better with cavalry as i say don't you think? Thats why i need help of saying this to somebody close to B&W Studios.
By: fenton_pat :: Nov 03, 2004, 11:35 AM Firstly, let me reiterate that we are no closer to the people who work on Black & White 2 than you are. If you want to tell the game's developers about your ideas, all you need do is post it for discussion at the official Black & White 2 forums. They are moderated by people who actually work on the game, so they will see it. Whether they choose to reply to your thread or implement your idea (if it hasn't been implemented already) is entirely up to them. Because of the previously mentioned NDA, they may contractually forbidden to answer you, so don't get your hopes up.
By: chronic :: Nov 03, 2004, 06:27 PM Yes, i know i have to tell my ideas there but i always tried but i just didn't find somewhere to give my ideas and that the Team readed my ideas so thanks about that ill talk in that forum.I once tried in that forum but i could never enter i think server problems or whatelse thats why i didn't enter again.

By: fenton_pat :: Nov 04, 2004, 11:49 AM boards.bwgame.com will get you to the Black and White forums on Lionhead's site. You can then post in the Black and White 2 section and post as long as you're registered. They're recently after upgrading the forums and are still sorting out some bugs. The Internet Explorer browser, in particular, is having problems loading up their pages, but other browsers (firefox, in particular) seem to be able to handle them alot better. I suggest you try downloading and installing it if you're having problems ;).

The way you put it, it sound like you're working at Black & White Studios itself. Also, I believe Chronic sorted out his problem and is already registered on the forums.

By: Jragon :: Aug 13, 2005, 08:05 AM Think aobut it this way chronic (even thought eh post was a LONG time ago). just because these people have masons for great walls doesnt mean they have horse breeders. I ttook the romans a conquered group of barbarians to teach them how to ride the horse and gain the knowledge of the saddle. Nothing was ever essential until it was discovered so I think that we should have faith in B&W that the Edenian battle system will be fine without massive calvary charges.
